Volunteers Honored for Their Contributions to IPC and Industry

IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® presented Special Recognition, Distinguished Committee Leadership and Distinguished Committee Service awards at IPC APEX EXPO™ show, held April 6 - 8, 2010 in Las Vegas.
IPC is a global trade association dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its more than 2,700 member companies, IPC represents all facets of the industry, including design, printed circuit board manufacturing and electronics assembly. As a member-driven organization and leading source for industry standards, training, market research and public policy advocacy, IPC supports programs to meet the needs of an estimated $1.7 trillion global electronics industry. IPC maintains offices in Bannockburn, Ill. (headquarters); Taos, N.M.; Arlington, Va.; Garden Grove, Calif.; Stockholm, Sweden; Moscow, Russia; and Shanghai and Shenzhen, China.
Awards were presented to individuals who made significant contributions to IPC and industry by lending their time and expertise to committees and standards and programs development.

Distinguished Committee Leadership awards were presented to:

  • Teresa Rowe, AAI, Daniel Foster, Defense Acquisition Inc., for their leadership of the 5-22a J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) Task Group that developed the J-STD-001E standard.  The award was presented by Joseph O’Neil, Hunter Technology, from the IPC Board of Directors. The IPC J-STD-001 document is the most widely used document internationally for building hardware when processes and process control are required by the customer.

Special Recognition award recipients were:

  • Daniel Foster, Defense Acquisition Inc., Leo Lambert, EPTAC Corporation; Teresa Rowe, AAI; for their contributions to IPC-A-610E Standard (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies).  The 610E is one of the most popular documents sold internationally. The award was presented by Denny McGuirk the President of IPC.
