Helping Hands: The Robinson Family

Volunteers: Deanna Robinson (pictured), and daughters Mayah Robinson and Dionna Robison

Occupation: Deanna Robinson, Defense Acquisition, Inc. contractor for Missile Defense Agency; Mayah Robinson, student at Riverton Middle School; Dionna Robinson, student at Riverton Elementary School

Volunteer activity: On Nov. 21 we participated in HandsOn Greater Huntsville for Family Volunteer Day by walking the dogs for Huntsville Animal Services.

About Agency: HandsOn Greater Huntsville is the primary connection between volunteers and community needs.

Why I volunteer: Deanna Robinson: "I attended the Family Volunteer Day event because I thought it would be a great experience for my family to work together by helping other organizations. I’m a firm believer it is always better to give then to receive. In addition, I want that giving spirit of helping other people to flow from myself to my children and generations after me."

How you can help: HandsOn Greater Huntsville is the primary connection between volunteers and community needs. The center offers volunteer opportunities in areas such as youth and family, language bank, employee volunteerism and other areas.
